The breath of Allah
blows across the
silent desert dunes.
The battlefield bleeds
from mortal wounds;
the smell of death
is everywhere.
The desert winds
Blow sand across the
burned-out wrecks on
the highway of the dead,
where skin has turned to ash
and vehicles to tombs.
And, the mother of all wars
weeps for her lost children.
