Let’s start with a cup of love,
Overflowing to the brim,
Mix it well while stirring,
Some joy and peace in.
Have patience now as you fold it in,
You won’t believe your eyes.
Before you know it, it will rise
To more than twice its size.
Don’t forget kindness and goodness,
It’s just what this recipe needs.
It will show throughout your life,
In each of your daily deeds.
A heaping spoonful of faithfulness,
Swirled in now will make it sweet.
Now use some self-control at this point,
Until your recipe is complete.
After baking until well-done, enjoy it,
Remember though it’s not just a recipe.
The Fruit of the Spirit is not just a dish,
It’s a way of life you see.
So eat it up, go ahead,
The Lord even wants you to share it.
Live your life as God would have you,
Being nourished by the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT!
