I remember as a child, going to the store I had very little money, how I wished I had more; and I watched the trinket I wanted day by day, hoping it would go on sale, and my money would be enough to pay.
Every week I'd wander in, and look at the display, longing would fill my heart, would there never be a way?
Then came that wondrous day when I saw a 'Sale' sign on the tray, and knew that the special gift would be mine that day.
It reminded me so of how I was before I met you, there was a longing in my heart, but I didn't know what to do.
Then when I met Jesus, He gave me a brand new view, for He transformed my heart and life, in Him I lived in the truth.
God gave me back trust and hope, and the joy of living in Him, and showed me that love could be something that would never dim.
And when I was ready to be filled up, to have my dreams come true, He sent into my life the truest love - the day He sent me you!
Now the gift is mine, and I spend my days looking for new ways to say, the words that would tell you what a treasure you are to me every day.
My love for you is so deep and long, so high it reaches the sky, and though words will never say all I mean, what a joy it is to try!
No more longing for something that had to go on sale, a trinket out of reach, Jesus came into my heart with a better lesson to teach.
Love is a gift, and He gave it to me, when my wish came true, and every day I celebrate again, for I get to share it with you.
My thanks are endless, my love fills my heart, how can I tell you so?
With every word I say, every little thing I do, I hope that I can show....
every morning I wake in joy, my hours go by with blinding speed, and I fill them up with happiness and peace, for I now have everything I need.
