We’re all here for a reason, be it grand or be it small.
God’s universal master plan has roles for one and all.
For some it seems it’s easy to see what their role will be,
some can’t find the reason, they think they’ll never see.
I often get frustrated not knowing why I’m here,
it doesn’t seem I matter as I go from year to year.
There’s nothing I’ve invented that will ever help mankind,
There’s no one I’ve inspired, at least none I can find.
Butterflies inspire us; they’re as pretty as you please,
serum from some tiny plants can be used to fight disease.
Bigger fish eat smaller fish as part of the food chain.
My lack of contribution is driving me insane.
Then, I go downstairs and say good morning to my boys,
I see how much they’ve grown; they’ve become my pride and joy.
All my kids plunge into life, and never showing fear,
then I start to think, maybe that’s why I was here.
