Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal
after you've had a baby. Somebody doesn't know that once you're
a mother, normal is history.
What would bring you cheer this morning? What would it take to
start your day on an upbeat theme? Yesterday morning I went
for a ride on my special 3 wheel bike for handicapped folks. As I
opened the garage door, I heard the neighborhood Mocking Bird
singing his heart out going from one tune to another. He/she had
no idea it was making my day, but it was just as cheerful as it
could possibly be.
If you think Mocking Birds are a nuisance, stop in your tracks,
tune out everything else and just listen. As you listen, thank your
creator for making such a tiny creature an example of His genius
in all of creation including you. Being thankful goes a long way
toward making you cheerful.
We shouldn't really marvel at how God could put such a singing
ability into what has to be a very tiny brain. Think of what mere
man has been able to do in putting tons of information on a tiny
microchip. If man can accomplish that, is anything too hard for
God?
Cheer up -- you serve a mighty God and He cares about you. In
Psalm 30:12 (niv) we read, "That my heart might sing to you and
not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever."
Make that your Psalm for today and make the Mocking Bird
jealous by singing praise to God with words.
