Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 1Thessalonians 5:11
Our Pastor spoke today on being encouragers to one another. His message made me ponder this concept in light of what we see today being passed off as encouraging and lifting one another up in churches all over.
In today’s climate of apostasy running rampant, those of us who continually sound the alarm many times get labeled as unloving and not encouraging. We also run the risk of getting so focused on the signs of the times that we forget to remind ourselves and others that God is in complete control even in the midst of the utter chaos as we see around us today.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to
separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rom 8:37 -39
Many churches are pushing the ways of the world, and when stripped of it’s worthless veneer cannot begin to edify or encourage anyone. Yet those of us sounding the alarm and working to share the Gospel in it’s entirety get labeled as unloving or the new dirty word “fundamentalist”.
I do not believe that I can be a true encourager to anyone by deceiving them into church or minimizing their need for a Savoir, or making them feel good about themselves at the expense of their eternal salvation; so I will continue to sound the alarm to those who are perishing.
To those who are His children, the only true encouragement in a believers life is from knowing and trusting the Son our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ. Apart from Him there is no hope, no encouragement, nothing to build one another up on.
Though this piece is short, I just want to remind those of you who may feel discouraged in standing for the faith in a world turned upside down, where mankind calls evil good, and good evil; that we can stand tall in the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the way of salvation.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Titus 2:11-13
Be encouraged beloved, we serve the risen Savior Jesus Christ! His return for His own is on the horizon.
