The veil of our lives that hangs before us and hides the future is an awesome blessing, though we sometimes moan at it, and sometimes petulantly try to make pinholes through it, and peep into see a little bit of what is going on behind it. It brings freshness into our lives, and a possibility of anticipation and even of wonder and expectation, that prevents us from stagnating.
The dove folds its pinions when it reaches the ark, and needs no more to wing its weary body over sullen waters, vainly searching for a resting place. Nomadic tribes, when they find themselves in some rich valley, unfold their camels and donkeys, pitch their tents, and say, "Here we will dwell, for the land is good!"
And so we, if we have made experience of God's perfect agape love and His sweet sufficiency, should be delivered from temptation then why should we not go a little further behind the veil into the Holy of Holies??
