I’m living on old memories
Of poems I have wrote
Or songs I sang into existence
Or my sayings worth their quote.
I even have a web page
That I visit everyday
To see how many hits I got
And take sometime to pray;
For people who by God’s Design
Have stopped along their way;
That God would truly touch them
By what I had to say.
I pray for this old sinner too
That God would have His way,
That this is not an earthly reward
But truly worth my stay.
I guess I’ve always known, that
My Poems Must First Touch Me.
Must Put The Twinkle In My Eyes
Long before I let others see.
And I surly know that only God
Can really touch a Heart.
That Without Him, "I'd Be Nothing,"
For it’s from Him I got my start
And that I must be a Willing Vessel
If I’m to do my part.
So I’ll Thank You LORD
For each new poem
Even before my heart is blessed,
But I’ll never forget each blessing
I’ve been given through the rest.
So LORD would You please touch the hearts
That stop by here today,
Lighten their heavy burden LORD
As they journey on their way.
Bring Them Hope and Comfort LORD
And A Quiet Peaceful Day,
And take away the need to rush
That they’d feel free to stay.
And Help Them LORD To Find YOU,
In what I have to say.
And Help Me LORD to never forget
That For These I Need To Pray.
Thank You Lord Jesus!

Samuel, I think you just wrote a poem for all the rest of us who try to write poetry. This one came when I could most appreciate it. I am so blessed by reading it. Thank you for your work for the Lord, and please continue on. Thomas
