As I went walking today the air was warm and soft, and the birds were flinging their songs aloft, and all about flower petals were strewn around, there were so many that they covered the ground.
It must be that yesterday the rain was an unseen hand that gathered up the petals and scattered them over the land.
To make a lovely carpet under my feet today cushioning each step as I went on my way.
It reminded me of that day not so long ago when I walked down an aisle with my heart all-aglow; there were petals then too, under my feet, as I went so joyfully my husband -to-be to meet.
I hardly saw the flowers, I was walking on the air, and all I could see was my dearest love standing there.
The happiness I felt that day never left, it's with me still, and now I know that no matter what, it always will.
I thank God so much for all the reminders He sends my way, so that I will think of you a million times a day.
And each thought carries with it, my love so new, that I will never ever tire of giving back to you.
I thank God too, for loving me, for making my dreams come true, for giving me a brand new life, the one that I have with you.
