Author requests article critique

Lord, answer now my one request
And grant my heart’s desire
You know that I must have this thing
For it burns me like a fire.

His silence echoes in my ear
As it shouts down from the skies
That holy stillness tears my heart
And seems to mock my cries.

Well, I shall storm those heavenly gates!
I’ll fall down on my knees,
And never give the Almighty rest
‘Till He answer all my pleas.

Oh, wordless answer, what is this?
Such strange, divine reply!
Does He not see my heart is torn,
My soul is parched and dry?

I lift my bitter anger up
To the Sovereign on His throne
I shout at Him that He has said,
“If you have faith it shall be done.”

The Silent One then raises up
And takes His pruning shears
He cuts away at my desire
Despite my pain and tears.

I look at what He’s done, and weep
I’ve been chastened, raw and bare
I know I must surrender now
And trust my Father’s care.

He takes me in His tender arms
And draws me to His breast
He tells me just to trust and wait
For He knows what is best.

I finally yield my all to Him
And trust His perfect way
For He sits at the Potter’s wheel
To perfect this lump of clay.

Lisa, what a powerful piece! Had me wondering at the beginning, but as I read on I could see the transformation blossoming. I'm sure this will touch many hearts, and so it should because you have beautifully expressed a lesson - "In Gods time, not ours." TomS
