What if
I had not gone out that night?
What if
I hadn’t driven quite so fast?
What if
I had turned left not right?
What if
I could change the past?
What if
I had married her instead?
What if
I been a better man?
What if
I had just stayed in bed?
What if
I had taken a stand?
We can not live in a ‘what if’ world
We must take each day as it comes
Else our minds twist in a whirl
And leaves our hearts ridged and numb

This poem, I think, expresses a feeling everyone surely has at one time or another, "what if". I have asked myself that thousands of times probably. Thank you. Thomas
