Nearer Than You Know

There are no reasons for me to fear today. There are no reasons for my soul to be weak within me today. My God is with me and He will not forsake me. Iíve been led through a low place where water has been scarce and food has been even scarcer. And yet, my Father hasnít left me or forsaken me. He has led me through the driest and lowest places for good reason.

Here, in this place, I see a forest ahead, a garden that is lush and sprinkled with dew. I see a calm place, a place full of peace and prosperity for the soul. There, I will live easily by faith, because this place Iíve been in has left me relying totally upon the will of God and faith. Iíve been bent terribly by the hand of God. But I havenít broken. See Jesus assures us that He will not break a bruised reed.

The harsh, dry winds have done their damage to my stem and core, but my roots, my foundation remains. Iíve been bruised, but only because my God allowed it to be so. He allowed it, yes, but for my growth and understanding, my humility and humbleness before a holy God, THE holy God, for the increase in my faith, for the love of my soul by its Creator. For it was Love that granted me salvation and the same Love sent me through the deserted valley. Now, Love has put my feet inside the gate of the garden and come running to me from its depths.

Do not fear. Dry seasons and valleys are for a time. But Godís mercy endures forever and ever and ever. He will not leave you alone forever, though the time may seem long to you, though you may be near the ends of your hope for His nearness. Stand strong in your faith. Stand strong. Over the next hillside lies a garden, a place much greater and lasting than the occasional oasis youíve managed to crawl to. And there, the Master, the Husbandman, your First Love awaits you, sitting calmly by the still waters, knowing the Father, knowing that the Father knows Him and is in Him, and that the Father hears His cry for you, His Beloved. Find your way to the gate and He will run to you and bring peace and joy with which to shower you.

His thoughts toward you are greater than you can imagine. All things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. He hasnít forgotten the call He called you to. Now, you donít forget it either. He doesnít lie. His purposes for you that He pointed out to you and appointed you to long, long ago still stand. Now, you, just stand.

Be blessed and blessed be the Name of the Lord.

Psalm 100:3-5 (KJV)

Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Dear Treava, Your words bring such comfort to me at a time when many around me whom I love are hurting and facing overwhelming health challenges. It has been a time of fear and anger about all they are enduring. As your message soothes my own soul, I feel tears in my eyes as I think about releasing all this pain to our Lord and holding on to His promises of HOPE for His children. Thank you, Treava...it appears that you have reached many hearts with your message! God bless you, dear Sister! With great love, Peggy

Treava, Thank you so much. You had my number. It reminds me of Reliance, a story He gave me last week, only mine is very simple. Thank you for your obedience. Thank you so much. Love you lots. Mitzi

Beautiful! Thank you, my beloved sister, for a beautiful reminder that we are never allowed and all things are for good. God bless.

WOW! You never know how much your writing has ministered to my heart today. You see, "fear" is like a thief, robbing me of my joy at times, that I almost write about a devotional about it this morning. I wonder why even as a child of God, I succumb to fear and anxieties especially about the future of my children. Until... God revealed to me His answer through your writing. Your article is truly annointed by the Holy Spirit. I'll print it out and read it over and over again. You're a big encouragement to me! Amazing what God can do through us! Love, your sister in Christ, Gloria

Thanks Treava. This is beautiful and right where I am today. The last two days have been a meditation on this exact truth. He is here and He is enough!

Treava, you write from an inspired heart. A heart that knows the will of God and one that strives to fulfill His will in your life. Bless you in all you do and know that you are greatly loved.

For those of us who are living in THAT PLACE such as I, where we have to FULLY RELY UPON GOD, this is SO encouraging Joyce. This Scripture came to mind while reading this! Ps. 104:27-These all wait for You, that You may give them their food in due season. (28) What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, and they are FILLED WITH GOOD. Our God is GOOD! And this is a very good and up-lifting article! I love you, Sharon
