Think about it -- when were you born-again? You don't know??
Depending on your church and the teaching you've been given,
they'll try to make you think that not to know the exact moment,
day and year is an indication that you've never been born-again.
That's unfortunate.
My wife, Betty, joins Ruth Graham, Patty Colson and many,
many others that cannot pinpoint a specific time. I would assume
that many of you are in the same situation. Yet you know without
a doubt that the Jesus you love is your Lord and that you are a
true believer. You are just as "saved" as the one who went
forward during the tenth verse of Just As I Am.
Be encouraged. Don't ever let someone put you down if you can't
give a specific moment for your conversion. Unfortunately, some
people have a precise handed-down formula for how they think
people should get "saved." If I were able to hear each one of you
tell me about your conversion, I would get a broadstroke of
fascinating stories.
Regardless of how you were introduced to Jesus Christ, rejoice in
your faith and make it even more joyful by not hanging on all the
man-made hangups. Allow the only real Word to be your guide.
In Jn.11:24 (nlt), Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life.
Those who believe in me, even though they die like everyone
else, will live again." It doesn't say a thing about how we go
about the act of believing, it just says "believe," then rejoice in
your faith by living it uncluttered by man-made add-ons.

Thank you for such an encouraging message David. I join the list of those who never literally walked to the front of a church and prayed a sinner's prayer. I had a very real conversion experience, fell in love with the Lord, and then took another few years to know what to do about it! Thanks again. With love, Deb
