Years ago, I recorded this song in a relaxed bluegrass style, strumming a 12-string guitar with some musician friends backing me up. The fiddler stole the show!

MOSES
Halt there, Moses, right now where you stand
I told you long ago what I had planned
For forty years you’ve been tending sheep
Now the time has come to set My people free
I raised up Israel to be My own
Going to settle them down in their promised home
I’ll lift them out of Egypt’s toil and shame
And make a nation for the splendor of My name
Chorus 1:
Moses! You’re standing on holy ground
Take off your shoes; let your heart bow down
I’ll show the world what a man can do
When Almighty Yah puts His power in you
So you don’t speak well, and you’ve got no heart to lead
You’re afraid that the people won’t pay you any heed
All you know is what you cannot do
But I need a broken man so My glory shines through
Chorus 2:
In a bush that burns with a holy fire
Is the presence of a Love that will never die
From heaven I have heard My people wail
Go let them know My promise never fails
Bridge:
Now take your rod and throw it on the ground
That snake won’t bite; My Word has got him bound
Now pick up your enemy by the tail
You’re gonna learn Yahweh will prevail
In a bush that burns with a holy fire
Is the presence of a Love that will never die
From heaven I have heard My people wail
Go let them know My promise never fails
Moses! You’re standing on holy ground
Take off your shoes; let your heart bow down
I’ll show the world what a man can do
When Almighty Yah puts His power in you
Coda:
When Almighty Yah puts His power in you
When Almighty Yah. . .puts His power. . .in you!
I am so sorry, precious Sister. But I couldn't hear the music, which I'm sure was beautiful, for "hearing" the words. It didn't even dawn on me until I looked back at it that I just happen to be forty. But that's not even a drop in the bucket for the reasons this spoke to my heart, especially to the broken places. I guess I'd better get off here now and get to work typing up the parts to that vision. I raised up Israel to be My own
Gonna settle them down in their promised home
So you don’t speak well, and you’ve got no heart to lead
You’re afraid that the people won’t pay you any heed
All you know is what you cannot do
But I need a broken man so My glory shines through
I loved this! And I say, "Hey Moses, tell old Pharoah to let My people GO!" (smile) Your wrote: ("Now take your rod and throw it on the ground
That snake won’t bite; My Word has got him bound
Now pick up your enemy by the tail You’re gonna learn God will prevail.") 1 Corin. 15:56-The STING of DEATH is SIN, and THE STRENGTH of SIN is THE LAW. But Christ has NAILED that to the tree: Col.2:14-15) So now old Pharoah you had better set us free! (col.15:-Having disrmed principalities and powers, TRUIUMPHING OVER THEM in it.
