Lord, you are life, you are love, you
are the light; you're the very breath of
me, you're the very soul of me.
You're the sound; you're the beauty of
all things, you're the reason why I
write, the reason why I live, the reason
why I hope.
You're the air I breathe, you're the
quietness at the end of a day, the setting
of the sun, the shining of the stars, the
movement of the waters in the sea, and
the Spirit that lives in me.

I wrote this poem late one evening when my husband was at work and my children were all put to bed. Now I had a chance to just sit and be alone with the Lord. I began to think of him and his goodness. I began to think of how he came into my life and changed me and gave me a new outlook on life. Sitting in my room, thinking of him and listening to the quietness around me I began to hear these words.
