“Please leave me alone. I am in low spirits” Janet shouted. The cares and concerns of this world choked her throat. The bills piling for payment smiled at her with their ugly faces. The call from creditors crushed her. The excruciating pain of traversing through an empty nest syndrome added fuel to the fire. Her dear children Pauline and Magtina had settled down far away from her. Mixed feelings made Janet cry alone.
In the season called prosperity, dear ones and friends flocked like mushrooms. However, with the advent of poverty she looked like a tree in the autumn. Her prayer and quiet time with the Lord gradually diminished. It became something less than a zero. Worries of this world danced on her like the waves of the sea. Despite knowing the fact, "Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” she kept pondering over the problems. Yet she did not look up at the solution provider.
She lifted her head up and looked at the wall opposite. Nothing has changed for the past fifteen years in her office. Suddenly the script in the wall hanger caught her attention. Light and life flowed. She read, “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (2 Corinthians 3:17 (NKJV))
The Holy Spirit – our Comforter, bridges the gap between pain and peace. It is your choice. The packed items called pain and peace are placed before you. What is your choice? The Lord has already promised, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” The third fruit of the Holy Spirit is Peace. The Almighty God is called the God of Peace. He is the King of all kings. If you firmly believe that you are a child of God then, call yourself as Princes and Princesses of Peace.
Janet got up. She knelt down and shouted, “I charge all my physical weaknesses, financial stringencies, lack of peace and those things that are brought about by the devil in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord please grant me Your liberty.” Then she wiped her tears. A soothing silver stream sprinkling showers of peace sprung up in her heart. When she kept her hand on the box labeled ‘PEACE’, the storm that ragged in her heart became silent and still.
