I am the cat
clever and sly.
I wait behind a rock
until you pass by.
Poised and positioned
with my ears laid back.
My tail twitches with excitement
for just the right attack.
As you unwittingly move
through the tall grass,
I am ready at a moments glance.
Then..pounce!
I've got you!
