When we get up in the morning, do we remember to talk to the Lord? I amity have to say that when I get up in the morning, I am so busy rushing around, getting the children off to school, that I forget to pray. As I writing this, the Lord is convicting me that my prayer life is not, as good as it should be.
Despite the fact that when I stop, and put the Lord before myself, I find that my day goes much better, then when I put Him last. While I stop to pray for things that are over whelming then, I forget to stop and include Him into insurmountable things.
You know, Christ wants to be part of our very lives completely, no if, ands, or buts, about it. He cares about every aspect in our lives; He is cheery with us when we are cheerful and unhappy when we are miserable. We can find time to say a prayer, while we are dressing the children, or maybe, just set my alarm clock twenty minutes earlier. I have found that with myself, I have no excuse for lack of accurate prayer life.
I am quick to go to the knee, when I have a substantial burden on my heart, but I am slow to the going to the knee when life is going smooth for me. I have seen where there was a difference in the out come when a concern was bathe in prayer. I shutter to think what would have happen if there were no prayer for that particular incident.
God has been convicting me that He wants to hear from me more then just when I sit down to eat. He doesnít just want me to come to Him just when there is a problem in my life, He wants me to tell Him, when I am pleased and things are going well. There are times I can let Him know that I am grateful for the sun when it shines brightly making the day a beautiful pleasant day.
Does prayer make a difference in our lives? I believe it does. Doctors are saying that patients and families of patients that pray together fair a lot better then ones that donít pray. Patients that were thought not to survive a devastating illness survive the illness. For example, my father in-law had gone into septic shock, we the family was told, he might not pull the night since septic causes, multi system shut down.
My father in-law pulled through the night, also made it for another six weeks before succumbing to something, completely, unexpected. God heard our familyís prayers for Dad, and gave us a reprieve for six additional weeks. There was people all over praying intercessory prayers for Dad, and we the family, could feel the prayers that were being said for us.
There was another time where by all medical reasons where Mark, my husband, should have been dead from his injuries additional to his heart problems, from an accident. I was told at the scene of the accident, Markís injuries were critical to where they were airlifting him to a hospital two and half-hours away. When the paramedics and police told me that Mark wasnít expected to make it to the hospital, the people at the retreat begin to pray for Mark and the rest of our family.
The prayers that were being said for us I could feel them while driving to the hospital two and half hours away from the camp. A calmness came over me where I knew the Lord was with me, He had surrounded me with His angels watching over me making my paths safe. I had been awake since six in the morning the day before, no sleep since the accident happen early in the evening. I had been very apprehensive of driving in the mountains, yet, when I had to drive in the mountains with rain coming down in sheets, therefore, there was no fear, of the mountains. God was driver of that car that day, I felt so peaceful, a peace beyond understanding, while driving to the hospital.
Now as for me, tonight when I do my Bible reading, I will stop, and pray afterwards, and will start spending more time in prayer. Part of getting my life in top shape order, is to better my prayer life by praying several times a day, not just at meals. When it is challenging to talk with the Lord, I will pull a chair out and talk to Him as if he is sitting in that chair. Matter of fact thinking, Christ is sitting in that chair beside us, have you said your prayers today? Start your day off with a great start, by saying your prayers, for today you can count on being blessed, in a way like never before.
