He left His home In Heaven above
To show us the Father’s Grace and Love
He came to earth as a common Man
And died on cross with nails in His hands
A stable was the place of His birth
And only His parents knew what He was worth
He lived His life as a carpenter’s Son
Nobody around knew that He was the One
Thirty years later His ministry began
Continuing His life as a perfect Man
Teaching and preaching His Father’s way
People came from afar just to hear what He would say
He raised the dead, gave sight to the blind
All things much easier than changing the mind
Most had seen the miracles He had done
Yet still they refused to see that He was the One
The time had come for the price to be paid
He went to the garden where He prayed
His sweat turned to blood, He was in much despair
The agony and heartache were too much to bear
Betrayed by a friend, He was soon arrested
This is when the Fathers plan manifested
Crucifixion was the sentence He received
The Gift would soon be given for all who believed
He was beaten and broken for all the doubters to see
And forced to carry His own cross to Calvary
This was the place, at the top of the hill
Where it would all end, and His blood would spill
With a crown of thorns upon His head
A sign was made that simply read
Inri: Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews
The price was about to be paid for me and for you
The Father had to turn away as it was about to end
He is so Holy He could not see His Son bear everyone’s sin
When it was over, His friends removed Him from the cross
This was a gain for the world, not just their loss
He was placed in a tomb, where He lay for three days
Angels appeared and rolled the stone away
The women came with the things to prepare
When they arrived He wasn’t there
As the women mourned the second loss of their Friend
He walked up and showed His face to them again
He called them by name, and told them to tell the rest
He is now risen, here comes His disciples true test
He came back and spent some time
Forever changing your life and mine
He may have went back to sit on His throne
But we were given a choice to let our hearts be His home
On the day we celebrate His resurrection
We must remember more than His crucifixion
He died and rose for you and me
So we could be with Him for all eternity
He conquered death for all of us
He is my Savior, my beloved Jesus
