Learn a new word each day, like: arbitrator (ar'-bi-tray-ter): a cook who
leaves Arby's to work at MacDonald's.
I never thought I'd live to see the day when Billy Graham allowed a
musical group on his telecast to perform using sensual pelvic
movements, but it happened. I have no objection to including
contemporary music, but the Billy Graham organization should have
enough clout to insist on a certain sense of decorum and decency.
Only Heaven will reveal the number of souls reached by Billy Graham,
but I'm concerned about the direction they are going. It looks like he's
being compromised.
There are plenty of worthy ministries to support. One that seems to
reach the most souls per dollar spent is HCJB World Radio -- it's a very
cost effective ministry and worthy of our support. See www.hcjb.org .
Another cost effective mission work is www.christianaid.org . Their
main thrust is the training of many
thousands of indigenous missionaries around the world. Both of these
ministries are not only highly cost effective, but they are especially
effective in reaching the lost -- worldwide.
As Christians, we control the flow of large amounts of money to
support evangelism around the world. I believe it is incumbent upon us
to invest the Lord's money very wisely and funnel it to organizations
who aren't top heavy with salaries and who use the money most
effectively. We try to be frugal with God's money -- do you? To use
today's vernacular, when we invest God's money, we want to get the
"biggest bang for the buck." We are not interested in supporting
Christian entertainment, but we are interested in supporting Christian
advancement through new birth clinics like the aforementioned.
That's my stump speech for today.
