Revelation of When, What, Why are the Spiritual Gifts given unto us?

As a born-again Christian and a believer of Lord Jesus Christ, I had these astounding questions about the receiving and applying the Spiritual Gifts of the Holy Spirit and I can say that many Born-Again Christians also might have the same questions and sometimes due to our lack of knowledge and wisdom, and fellowship with our Living God we are been mislead and preached wrong sermons and thereby we often are in the dilemma, regarding the above-mentioned question. I found the answers to the questions from the WORD OF GOD and I give thanks, Honour, Glory and Praise to the Lord for opening the revelations about the questions pertaining to Spiritual Gifts.

When we receive the Spiritual Gifts?
We all know that in Acts chapter 2 that how the apostles who were gathered in a room was been anointed and filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them (Acts 2:1-4) on the day of the Pentecost. Further if we read the chapter 2 of the Acts we will find the work of the Holy Spirit and in Verse 38-40 the answer of our question of when we receive the spiritual Gifts is answered.

Acts 2:38:- Peter replied,’ Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. On reading the verse carefully you come to know that all the three vital things that is Repentance, Baptism, Forgiveness of sins all hovers around only one name that is JESUS CHRIST, without Him we cannot have any one of them and when a person does as peter said then each one of us who has repented our sins by accepting Jesus as our saviour shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit as the He promised us in John 16:7 –“Unless I go away, the counsellor (Holy Spirit) will not come to you; but if I go , I will send him to you.” And He fulfilled the promise on the Day of Pentecost.

What are the Spiritual Gifts?

This questions answer can be found in 1 Corinthians 12 as Paul states to us that all the Gifts may vary but the Giver i.e.:- the Lord is the one and the same. In Verse 8-9 of the same chapter Paul has briefly stated the types/names of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. “To one there is given through the Spirit of Wisdom, to another the message of Knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of Healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous Powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between Spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and still to another the interpretation of tongues.” In total there are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and when we accept Jesus Christ as saviour any one of these gift as per the Wish of our Lord will come to us along with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Why is the Spiritual Gifts given unto us?

As per Paul in 1 Corinthians 1:7-8: the verse describes the very need of the spiritual gifts which are given unto us as the Believers of the living Lord Jesus Christ. The verse demonstrates the grace and the plans of our Living Lord for every single Believer of the Body of Christ.
Verse 7 “Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 8 He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
From the above Verse 7 and 8 it’s really simple to know that why the spiritual gifts are given , first the gifts will help us to hold steadfast in our faith ,up till and unless our Lord Jesus Christ is being revealed (made known, publicized, exposed) and that is the IInd coming of Jesus Christ. Secondly major reason is that through the gifts of the holy spirit and by applying the same for the personal spiritual upliftment and the life of the people who are still in darkness, it will testify that the gits were properly used by the us and that the souls which were into the kingdom of darkness were been pulled out into the everlasting kingdom of GOD and thereby helping in the harvest of the souls. And so we will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This verse of 1 Corinthians 1:7-8 testifies that the Spiritual Gifts are given to us to hold in faith up till end and that is the day of our Lord Jesus Christ come and that is the day come. So the gifts increases our faith and helps us to gain a more strong and loving communion with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Secondly the reason behind the Spiritual Gifts is answered in 1 Corinthians 12:7 which states that , 7” Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the Common good.”” Here in this verse each one –represents the entire Body of Christ, which is made of believers, know as church. And secondly the word Common good represents that the gifts should be used in such a way that the whole of the community (CHURCH) shall be benefited from it.

If we read the entire chapter of the 1 cor. 12 we will find that Paul has used Human Body as a symbol representing the Church, made of the believers. Paul says in Verse 12:12 “The body is a unit, though it is made of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.” All though each one of us may be gifted different Spiritual Gifts but the we should be careful that our gifts may be useful to all the members of the church and when the gifts are properly used by each of us then we can see the great wonders in a particular church, but for it we have come into unity and by taking up the example of anatomy of human body Paul significantly states that whenever a single member is missing the entire body suffers and thereby he further continues that , no member can survive if isolated form the rest , for e.g.:- Alone, an eye is useless.

Paul relied on body images to explain both the diversity and unity of God’s followers and the bottom lines is that our gifts should be used for the larger benefit of the Body of Christ (Church) and work in accordance and unity and thereby serve the Lord.

Saints I pray to God that these answers of when, what and why are we given the gifts of the Holy Spirit shall provide you a outline for the spiritual gifts and its application and the very outcome of the same.

Saints when God provides us with such a awesome gifts of the holy spirit we as the members and believers of Body of Christ ,must focus upon the upliftment of spiritual life of those sheep’s who have gone astray from our Lord and to deliver those lost souls who has not yet accepted Lord Jesus as the saviour of there life and when you will apply this wonderful and powerful gifts of the Holy Spirit along with the Gospel of Kingdom of God ,then we see miracles not in the our life but also in the whole world.

If you out there have not experienced such a awesome power of the God and want it to experience it then today is your day ,just accept Jesus Christ as your saviour and as peter said in Acts 2:38-40 Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. You too can have the spiritual gifts.
If you have not yet repented for your sins and do not have the salvation of our LORD pray these prayer as act of faith and Jesus shall come into your heart and reside with you forever .

"Father, In the name of JESUS I believe that you died on the cross of Calvary for my sins and through your Blood I have the redemption of my sins and that I am a sinner and accept and repent for all my sins, cleanse me with your Sacreth Blood. JESUS I accept u as the saviour of my life and I give my body, Soul and Spirit in your hands, Come into my heart, lock yourself and throw away the key"- AMEN.

But be sure and aware that the gifts of the Holy Spirit should not be taken up as a thing of proud and boastfulness but for serving and expanding our Lord’s Kingdom and remember what Lord said to us in Matthew 24:45-46: “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when He returns.47 I will tell you truth, He will put him charge of all his possessions.”

But having these gifts if you fail then lord says in verse of Matthew 24: 48-51: “But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, “my master is staying away a long time,’49 and he begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant on a day will come on a hour when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of .51 He will cut him to pieces and assign a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.””

So let us be Wise servants of our Lord and not as a Wicked servant of God as the wise servant will get the charge of all the possessions of our Lord in Heaven, while the Wicked servant will be cut into pieces and will be thrown with hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth and that is the HELL.

“God is calling upon you each and every one to be a Wise servant and the Heavenly inheritance will be your, It’s your choice know whether to be a Wise or a Wicked servant of our Lord”.

May GOD bless each one of you and shower His blessings upon all the believers of Body of Christ for know and for ever, JESUS name –Amen!

In Loving Christ,

Ashish Macwan.

Praise Lord! For you were right on, every truth except for what could be a typo? Where you say "at the 2nd coming" this should state"at the 1st coming" for the word says "and I shall call my people, and they shall meet me in the air" I am sure that you know, that the ones who have and use the Holy Spirit, are the ones HE is calling "His people" In CHRIST
