"By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ."-- 1 Cor:10-11
The institution we call "the church" is an issue unto itself when we ponder why it is that we as Christians create these cardboard shelters around us. Could it be that the institution itself has literally brainwashed our thought processes as believers? Let's face it, we as a generation are failing our Lord. It is an issue of individuals not stepping out or standing up for what our Lord expects. Most of us would look at the aforementioned question of "Is He Lord", and would more than likely only be able to answer that question with a narrow conviction that would dishearten our Savior immensely. Sadly, if we begin to look at this constricting conviction, we can only come to one conclusion; our modern day church has taken our hearts and our Spirits and made them spiritually impotent! To be blunt, we as Christians are asleep at the wheel. We must come out of sedation to perform in the manner in which our Lord deserves and/or expects. What has created this severe dysfunction? Only one denominator exists. Our churches, particularly those in the mainline sector, have failed this generation and perhaps two preceding us for far too long!
So, what do we do as we begin to find ways to rise up as a Christian nation? Quite frankly, we must take back the CHRISTian church. Is Christ not the core of that word?!? Let's go! No more excuses, no more reasoning, no more waiting for someone else to take the lead. Folks, it is on us. You, me, our fellow brethren. Christ was not and is not simply the passive Lord our modern day mainline realm has created. If you identify Him as the Lord of your life, you must realize that the little "c" church is not your God! Denominations and congregations must come out from behind the rock of their own species and understand that this is Christís church, not that of your in house governing body! Christian sectors must grasp that absolute reality that their skewed understanding has been shaped not by what they know to be true by the Word of God, but rather has been shaped by what they believe to be true, by what they have been taught! This is a blind faith! It is a misinformed faith! It is a cardboard existence that must be destroyed and rebuilt on the One and Only firm foundation--Jesus Christ!
Take out the box cutters! We must be a generational pendulum!
