I was thinking this morning of the lyrics to a song - not just any song, but the one that you sung to me in our wedding - can it possibly be almost three years ago?
Hearing you sing that song to me on our wedding day made me cry, and ever since then I cannot listen to it on the radio without crying all over again.
The tears I shed are tears of joy, a joy that only grows with the passage of time.
So I went this morning and looked the lyrics up, and just reading them brought the tears to my eyes again - for each word of that song still rings so true, for it not only expresses the feelings you have for me, but they would also be the words I would sing back to you every day...
My favorite part says:
'I will be here, and you can cry on my shoulder, when the mirror tells us we're older, I will hold you and I will be here.
I will be here to watch you grow in beauty and tell you all the things you are to me, I will be here.
I will be true to the promise I have made to you and to the One who gave you to me, I will be here.
And now.... this morning.... these words fill my heart with such joy that God has blessed me with you and the love we share - it is a rare gift that I cherish as the most precious thing there is.
With you, no matter what the circumstances.....my life is a joy!
