I write simply, a message, with a pen upon paper
And with this humblest of acts
I seek to imitate my inimitable Creator
My Creator spoke the universe into existence
The wisdom revealed and concealed in His Words
Is the only reason for my persistence
My mission -- I strive simply to write His truth
With all the courage of His servant David
With all the faithfulness of His servant Ruth
To send His message far and simply make it clear
I must listen always for his voice
And bravely, faithfully write down all that I hear
His spirit breathed deep into me does impart
A driving need to reach for excellence
In this pale imitation of Him that I call my art
