I left the house to go walking today, and the little yellow flowers still were bravely blooming - after our one day of summer, we are now back to the chill, splashing bits of bright yellow by the door and all around the tree in the center of the yard.
I walk down the street with the cars rushing by and wonder where they are all hurrying to be, and the wind they create pushes me to and fro, as if to say 'come along with me.'
I reach the corner and turn into the quiet, broken only by the morning birds in chorus all singing their hearts out with joy, sending their notes up to their Creator on high.
I pass by the patch of greenery again, and see a new Iris just starting to bloom, peeking its head shyly from the leaves, not really sure if it wants to come out.
Looking up I see over my head some kind of evergreen tree, a cedar I think, and all of the branches are covered with tiny little green globes of new growth, tiny treasure of pale green just waiting to be seen.
It makes me think that every day should be like this, full of promise and things yet to be, and all we need to do is to look, and it all can belong to me.
I think of our love, and how each day it is so new, We give this gift to each other as each day dawns, with grateful thanks to God above, who is the author of all good things we have, Who made us one in this blessing of shared love.
All through the day, small miracles happen, a sweet word, touch of a hand, the joy I feel just seeing your face, and I think of how very rich I am to be in this time and place.
I cherish each moment I have with you, for it is a joy for right now – it hasn't been seen before in the world and it will never come back again....so I tuck each memory away in my heart with all the others, there are so many, but there's always room, for I can never have enough of this joy and peace, a heart where spring is always in bloom.
I thank God each day for all that He's given me, and for each day showing me anew, all the wonders I have and dreams fulfilled, the love that I have in you!
