If the baby Could Talk

If the baby could talk what would she say?

She’d have her own words that would come into play.

To be freed from the glass that engulfs her pain.

To be let out and given her name.

But only a cry you can hear,

If you were inside.

Although, the baby is here,

She almost died.

Complications came when she came about

She barely survived before she came out.

No one knew what it would take.

To keep her a live, a lot was at stake.

Hold her now, receive her in.

Maybe then she’ll be born again.

The body has aged, but not the soul

The heart has been broken so long ago.

We are all here just for one cause

To rescue the baby that was almost lost.

We’ll fight. We’ll win.

Until the baby’s heart will mend.

The poem adds tenderness to the delicate subject, and I like the use of rhyme.
