"So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth."
In regard to "no room for negotiation", this may never be more true than it is in the Christian faith. Think about it, we live in a "gray" society, a "gray" world. We are surrounded by men and women alike that are starving for something concrete that provides black or white and nothing in between. Have you ever stopped to realize how unattractive the color gray truly is? Why? Simply because it has no clarity. It has no substance. It appears to bring down other colors when brought together. Is this not the essence of the "gray" areas of our faith? It does not provide clarity or substance and we are left to wallow in the mediocrity of trying to decide whether or not He truly is the Lord of our life. What we must remember is our Lord deserves so much better than that. He deserves absolutes from us and nothing less. He deserves our very best!
If we were to break down the notions of black or white in our walks, it is actually quite clear. If black were to represent unequivocal submission and dedication of our lives to what Christ wants us to do, and if white were to represent no belief or following at all, then quite frankly you would be better off remaining "in the white" because the "gray" area is NOT an option. There is no room for middle ground, for partial commitments. One must make the choice; you are either in or you or out. When it comes to Jesus Christ and your election to follow him the edict is really quite clear. We have no options. Free will is from now on a misnomer and a myth. The line has been crossed. Bring it real or don't bring it! Live it or leave it! The time has come brothers. God has placed the call. Pick up the phone and be prepared to move. The time has come. Are you ready?
