You Challenge Me
by Dan Blankenship
You, O’ Lord, challenge me
To be strong when I feel weak
You challenge me to trust
When all I feel is doubt
You challenge me to be silent
When angry words are about to arise
You challenge me to admit fault
When I feel above reproach
You challenge me to move
When idleness is my wardrobe
You challenge me to think of others
When selfishness entombs me
You challenge me to choose love
When hate seems so effortless
You challenge me to be wise
When ignorance is my friend
You challenge me to work
When rest is my chosen trade
You challenge me to be calm
When chaos rules the day
You challenge me to be holy
When Holiness feels so far away
