The day of the festivity was fixed as well anticipated by the entire citizen. Every one had prepared, they were to gather at the king’s palace, at a certain noised time. They all had to dress well as the day was a remembrance of their independence. Everyone in the city knew how the freedom came and the burden of terror was off them by the effort of the king who came to dwell with them.
Songs went on and the merriment was unusual. They were gathering; it was a wonderful opportunity for those who had been busy with their daily chore to exchange pleasantries. It all went on and on. The king started his speech. And there came in a man armed with some dangerous weapons, but nakedly marched in and moved toward the king with repeated words “I need attention”. Many were scared, nonetheless, they can but give him some dreadful attentions. He looked normal until that day, some thought.
It took courageous attitude of the security men to overpower him.But he succeeded in getting attention. He interrupted the whole programme at least for a while!
If you are in the gathering call by God’s name and such happened, what would have been your response? A naked armed man, sitting by your side and constantly saying “I need attention”. I believe the peace of the church will be disturbed with the atmosphere unsecured. We live with many of these dangerous human beings in the christiandom today, in places called the house of God.
Absalom was the most privileged and prestigious among the sons of David. He schemed and killed Ammon his half brother. Although, pardoned, he must not see the king for his offence. 2sam. 14:24. But he felt needed attention, he wanted to see the king. He sent for Joab 2sam. 15:29 but he denied him, because of the kings’ instruction. Absalom destroyed his field for his refusal.
2 sam 15:1-5. He schemed a means to achieved this as 2 sam 15:1. He wanted the king’s and people'attention. He stole their minds and got the attention through deception and false humility. “ And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand and took him and kissed him. and on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel. After this deceptive move, he finally took to arms and almost overthrone his father.
There are many gifted preachers, singers, teachers and kingdom's workers who the Lord had raised up. They have a special tie as sons and daughters of God, they were really sometimes converted like Absalom was to king David. They had all privileges, but are now parading the kingdom naked, and armed looking for attention false fully and forcefully. They are stealing the minds of men and women from God to themselves. Their pulpits are better used to extend their prowess and boost their circular and spiritual curriculum vitae. They had stole all the glory of the kingdom. They needed all the attention in the kingdom. They want to be reckoned with, they have something to say at all time, they have to give contribution to all things.
They probably have acquired several tittles to show their intentions. They are always with this crazy move to get attention. Many souls are distracted as a result of this, God’s plans and purposes in and for many gatherings and lives are interrupted. God’s instructions are rendered weak by these activities of these naked armed men in the kingdom seeking for attention.
God has declared these men and women, in the kingdom as dangerous men, and there is heavens’ war against them and their activities, if they fail to repent, like Absalom and Herod’s shall their proverb be!
