A Recurring Dream
By Sharon Smith
In the 25th chapter of Matthew we read about the ten virgins who were waiting for the bridegroom to come.
It happened again. I’m dreaming of going somewhere on a trip. It is an exciting time and it is almost time to leave. The situations always vary but then there is something I’ve forgotten or there is something else that needs done before we leave. I get busy doing those things, thinking of other things that need packed, etc. Someone is always telling me to hurry but I go on about my way without feeling the same urgency. I awake before the chance to go on the exciting trip.
I have had this type of dream so many times that I have wondered if the Lord is trying to tell me something. I certainly don’t want to be among the five foolish virgins who forgot to buy extra oil for their lamps and got caught unprepared when the bridegroom came.
I want to be able to go on the most exciting trip of my life and not be left behind.
