Thought it to be my life purpose
To find see the reason for existence...
From Wicca to lust
Friendship to love
Never once thinking the answer Would come from above...
Engaged, my mind set,
My to be 'hubby' was led
By a need for a pipe dream
Of what he thought to be
An almighty being...
I scoffed, I mocked
Cause I'd known what
Was going to be
Was 6 feet deep
Anything else was just a crock...
Yet I obliged
And something jumped inside
In a Spirit-filled church realized
That He'd been there all my life...
And what I thought was reality
Was just what the world was feeding me
Like a Matrix opened up
When I got to know Him personally...
I wept, I felt
A supernatural surge
Conformation more real
Than any charaka, spell or urge...
From the inside I was changed
Priorities rearranged
Purpose and destiny
Had now been handed to me...
But something more, I didn't seek
And didn't think that I'd believe
For Jesus, He was just a joke
Just a douche blowing smoke (right?)...
He'd said "I Am" but what did that mean?
That His ego had withstood for 200 centuries? (Ha!)
Religion is a joke, yes it's always been
But instead J.C isn't that, but Word and purity...
Now my eyes opened
And my reasoning clear
It's the leaping in my soul that knows
That God is really here...
All you've got to do is see the possibility
I ain't saying believe the Pope and that all these "Christians" are free
For some have done the wrong thing in the name of J.C
Those who've never known Him intimately...
Like many today baptized in SPIRIT by the Word
Not tradition
Nor superstition
It's a choice from what you've heard...
Don't look (or listen) to the church
But look inside your soul
It's something that we all must do
Before we get too old...
Get the most accurate translation
Open your eyes that it's God's Word
And things will be revealed to you
That will whisper, make you quiver
And rock your world...
Just like it did to me
No false religions hold the key
It all comes down to one
And His name is J.C
