What do Christians see when they are dying? Some see angels coming for them to carry them home. Others see bright lights, which possibly could be angels, or better, see Christ standing before them. Many Christians see their love ones who have gone before them, cheering them to come home.
Christians who have been sick for sometime see visions, sometimes a day or two before they are called, to the nearer presents of Christ. For example, when my Grandfather was dying, after being sick for several years, the day he was being summons to stand before our Heavenly Father, he saw a bright light. For us who were standing around him did not see it, but God had opened his eyes, for him, to see Christ standing there.
When my Grandmother was approaching death, she went to her knees, just moments before her heart stopped. While going to her knees, she told my aunt there was nothing that could be done for her, since she was just about to enter, into the hands of Christ. She had been known, to get on her knees even when she was unable, to talk to her Lord. When I had heard she went to her knees, I was not surprised, since I knew she would bow down before Christ. Granny adored her Lord and Savior.
I observed my Father-in-law, when he was ill and just before he was being ushered in to the hands of Christ, pointing and talking with something above him. Countless of times I would get down beside his head and follow his eyes trying to see if I saw what he was seeing.
Dad would be talking non-stop to someone, which he saw above his bed. He was smiling constantly pointing his fingers to whomever he was seeing. Whether he was seeing Christ, his parents, or perhaps he saw his granddaughter, encouraging him to come home.
I had seen over the last two months of his life, Dad was fearful of any of the medical procedures that were thrust upon him; yet he was not afraid to die. When I told Dad, that his time on earth was ending, just a few hours before, he would be slipping through the veil of death, into the arms of Christ, he appeared to be very peaceful, and calm about his pending death. He knew that all the pain would be over with and he would be whole, with the suffering being of the past. Dad knew that if he endured the pain that when he breathe his last he would no longer have to be anxious of the heath issues would be long forgotten.
There is scripture that proves that people do see Heavenly beings, when they are dying, “if” they are Christians. When you think about it, when you are dying, you are in communion with Christ. At that point, Christ is testifying to your soul. You are seeing His promises being fulfilled, and for the first time in your life, you are about to be standing on Holy ground. Things start happening to you, causing you to revere Christ. You are praising God, and confessing Him Lord of Lords, King of Kings. You are change for eternally.
1 Cor. 2:9-12 (ESV)
But, as it is written,
"What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him"—
these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also, no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
Now will this be you when your time comes? Will you be in awe of Christ? Will you go down to your knees and worship Christ?
