My brother Mike was a student at Moody Bible Institute. He was carelessly, making a withdrawal from an ATM at night, in downtown Chicago by himself. As he foolishly collected his money under the dim lights of the street ATM, another man decided to withdrawn the money from my brother. He was mugged and became another crime statistic. My brother lost his small collection of cash and developed a new respect for the dangers found on the Chicago streets. He also learned the value of obeying Moody rules of contact. Moody asks all students to travel in groups at night.
The only legal way to withdrawn cash from an ATM is to place a deposit in a bank and then you have the legal benefit of removing the money. However, God is the bank president of LoveBank. God has a totally different economy. His bank has Love ATMís everywhere! The LoveBank banking rules state one may make withdrawals from the endless store of love deposited by God in His LoveBank reserved for you and me. Some try to place a deposit in this bank. They put in good works or acts of righteousness. No deposit is accepted. Godís love is freely withdrawn without condition of deposit. This frustrates some customers who have great stocks of personal pride. Some of these resentful clients run down to Legalism Saving & Loan and make great deposits of good works and receive huge withdrawals of pride, smugness and self-satisfaction. The long term rewards of these investments have a record of destruction and misery. However, faithful customers of the Love Bank put all their faith and trust in both the president of Love Bank, Christ Jesus and the founder the Almighty, heavenly Father. They joyfully rejoice in the amazing gifts of grace and peace. They make huge daily withdrawals of love of God and never fear a lack of funds because they great stores of riches are endless to all in need.
Very creative, but true thoughts here.
I am forever grateful that I can go to God's bank of love and mercy to make withdrawals, when my soul needs refreshing, when my heart is heavily laden with worldly trials and sorrow.
Thanks for the reminder!!
