The joyous blue of sky hast gone
Replaced with grey so dreary
The sun doth hide behind yon’ clouds
And pale it naps full weary
Then tears of rain
From darkened sky
The earth’s lament doth fall
Refresh the ground
And quiet the sound
Of creatures one and all
Thine sky fair dark and darker still
‘Till come bright light of dawn
The storm doth rage in wanton fury
‘Till fury thence hast gone
With needed rain
Come darkened storm
So then ‘tis true within
For none doth last
And soon ‘tis past
The sun doth shine again
