Hear oh fortified city!
Who kept you from being captured?
Showing constant love to you.
One season after another season,
He offers what he had promised.
At sunrise you shine forth!
Glowing brighter, brighter and brighter,
How do you proclaim the greatness;
Of the one who saved thee?
The friends you hang around with,
Openly rejected him,
They refused to digest his doctrine,
And now they mock at your salvation,
The reason for your temporary blindness.
In celebration and tribulation,
On his scale you worth nothing,
For far at his sanctuary,
He marvels at your unstable ways,
‘Have you suddenly forgotten what you are?’
You’re nothing but a buff of breath.
