I thought of you today
It made me sit and smile
Such a wonderful soul you are
For that there is no denial
You with all your courage
Faith and determination
It could even be said sincerely
You’re among the greatest of God’s creations
I hope this brings to you
The joy you have to me
For I thought of you today
And you filled my heart with glee
This poem just came to me at 11:00 am on June 11, 2003.
I was on my job, as I tried to download stock orders on my
Computer, I was thinking of little Megan Wilson, as I had been
a great deal this day. I was in awe of the strength of this little child
whom I barely know. I was simply awestruck at the spirit of this little
girl who is afflicted with leukemia and has been through numerous
treatments and yet continues to live the life of a child. She is
simply precious. She had endured two treatments yesterday and yet
here she was, participating in Vacation Bible School activities.
Lesser things would have kept many others home, both child and
I began to think about all the things I had complained about in
my life and came to a stunning conclusion, there was nothing I
could I possibly have to complain about! After seeing this little one…
there was nothing, absolutely nothing. I dedicate this poem
to her as it is the gift given to me by God and the only way for me,
at times to say what it is that I feel within my heart. I wish her the
best and that she may always keep that vibrant spirit. I will always
remember that beautiful childhood laughter of that day, it lifted
my spirit more than anyone could know.
