Be gentle through the pouring rain,
Flow tenderly to ease life's pain.
Showers are following, clouds will subside,
To quench this sadness deep inside.
Healing weathers a stormy course,
Drenching death whispers remorse.
Oh that love were swifter calm,
And life but sung a kinder psalm.
God Who'll judge the quick and dead,
Guide the Son to smile instead,
Paint my world a glorious stay,
Amid the doubt of life's disarray.
You are now the world to me,
Must rain continue to set me free,
To reach the heights of Your abode,
Then wing my sorrow, and lighten my load.
I count the cost of daily dying.
If it must rain, I'll not stop trying,
For promises color a rainbow's sign,
And here in this storm, I've found You mine.
I'm not to question what You have willed,
Despite this course, I know I'm filled
Of all the love I've sought through the years.
I'm smiling (: You see, in spite of the tears.
