“Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them.” (Ex. 18: 11)
Our God is greater than all enemies; He is greater than all our fears. We should trust Him and acknowledge Him always. We should not allow the threat of those who believe in other gods to move or intimidate us.
The Snake that emerged from Aaron’s rod swallowed the three snakes that emerged from the rods of Pharaoh’s magicians. (Ex. 7: 10-12)
The three Hebrew boys who refused to bow to the gods of King Nebuchadnezzar professed the absolute trust they had in the Almighty God Jehovah and they were delivered from the fiery furnace. Any time we put our faith on line because we know our God, heaven is pleased and victory is certain.
Daniel emerged unscathed from the Lion’s den because He chose the Living God rather than other gods. (Dan 6:23, 26)
David overcame Goliath because he defended the name of God that the Philistine giant defied.
Elijah proved His faith in the Almighty God by calling fire from heaven to the consternation and shame of the prophets of Baal.
