Acts 2:2-4 "Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm in the skies above them, and it filled the house where they were meeting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability."
Throw open the doors
of your heart
unbolt the chambers
of your soul
for the Spirit of
the one true living God
longs to dwell
in the deep recesses
of your existence
The fiery torch
of a mighty Comforter
wishes to ignite
the wick
that lies vacant
within
A holy presence
sent from above
to equip and enlighten
our minds
To give courage
where there was fear
To burn away
the sins of yesterday
Allowing a fresh fire,
burning desire,
to forever warm
the child inside
Fully dependent
on our mighty maker
the healer
redeemer and king
sends His spirit
to live inside
our temple of flesh
and rein supreme
over our lives
each day
Giving us
what we cannot
find within ourselves
Burning flame
of glory
settle on me
