I attend a church by the name of Shelter Cove. It is a beautiful image of a safe place for those who need rescuing from the storms of life. The thing that we want to be cautious of though is not to get too comfortable in our safe haven and forget to get into the boat in search of those that are lost at sea.
Step out
into a boat, my friend
Set down your worldly affairs
Wake up from your ritual napping
It is time to paddle about
in search of those lost in rough waters
and waves of confusion
Those tossing about at sea
willingly swallowing gallons of salty tears
Arms going limp
Eyes glazed with loss of hope
in the storms of life
Reach out your hand
Dive in and share
your life preserver
Your mighty vessel
Pull them into
a safe, dry place
Our world is drowning
Can you hear
their cries
for help?
Guide them into
the safe harbor
of His love
Where they may find rest
and healing for their
water-logged souls
A sheltering haven
to be shared
A love too big
to keep to ourselves
An opportunity
to pass on
What He so graciously
blessed us with
our sheltering cove
