Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
Johann Sebastian Bach took pieces of his soul and made masterpieces out of them.
But he wasn't David.
William Shakespeare took pieces of his heart and stole the hearts of multitudes.
But he wasn't Solomon.
George Washington took pieces of land and lives and made a most powerful nation out of them.
But he wasn't Adam.
Any one of us may have mustard-seed faith, small as it may be, and may be able to move a mountain.
But not one of us are The Creator of those mountains.
So, do we pass up the chance to create?
Hardly!
We take pieces of our souls and pieces of our hearts and pieces of our lives, and we pattern them after The Alpha.
We may not be God, but we were created in the image of The First.
Let us take our creative gifts to the altar of thanksgiving, giving honor to The Giver of Gifts.
Then, let us use them to create!
Whether or not we leave a Bach-sized legacy is beside the point;
It will be The Omega who, being The Last, will judge every deed -- good, bad, or mediocre.
He may not expect perfection.
But it could be that He expects our personal best.
I could be wrong. (I wouldn't be the first and it wouldn't be my first time.)
But I'm not taking any chances.
I'm sorry, but I most sincerely think I've yet to give you my best.
The I Am is still teaching me.
Lord, I’m more than just satisfied with everything You’ve given me.
Help me use it in such a way that it will glorify You.
In the name of The Author (and The Finisher of my faith),
Jesus, of whom I desire most to be a reflection.
A truly heart stirring article Joyce! I think that Barbara Thompson Young summed it up perfectly with these words: ("I agree with you, in that we have not seen the best of you, but what we have seen is truly from the heart of Father God.") Love, Sharon
Treava, you have faith and praise in God like nobody I know. Every gift you write is a fragrant, beautiful praise to the Father and they can only get better.
Treava,
Thank you for inspiring us to give God our best in everything we do. Thank you for the reminder to bring our offerings to Him however big or small. You are ever growing in the likeness of Our Father.
Treava, if it was from any other source than the Creator then it would be frightening on how close this hits home. I am willing to say that almost everyone that participate at this site has the same feeling, that the Lord has one more writing that will be our best. Only The Father that has blessed us with our gift of writing knows when we will write that masterpiece testimony. Until He allows me to write that masterpiece I will continue on in faith. May He never cease to flood with blessings. In Christ, Christian
I am amazed at the timing of your posting this article! I was just today telling a new friend that I wish I could write the kind of articles as she writes.
Of course, that was my way of letting her know how wonderful I think her writing is! You have stirred many writers' hearts with this posting today. I agree with you, in that we have not seen the best of you, but what we have seen is truly from the heart of Father God.
