God's word is a light in the darkest hour
our sunshine in the pouring rain;
It's a pillow of comfort, in times of fear
and a healer when there is pain
It's an messenger of hope when we can't cope
a dose of cheer when we're sad;
And a fountain of joy, to give us peace
when at times things go bad
The Lord is the only one that we can run to
and who can make the heart do right;
He can touch place's, where others can't go
and make it come to light
No hidden spots will get pass him
not a one that he can't wipe out;
People need a second chance, ever now and then
and this is without a doubt
So the Lord is the one who checks everything
and his judgements will be fair;
Be it right or wrong, his grace comes along
to remind one's, that he does care
He won't put his foot down upon you
but will pick you up again;
And will not hold any charge against you
but, put it to an end
He will take the weights and lift them
so that the heart can sing;
And then he will let, the victory joy bells
to ring, ring and ring
God will also satisfy your longings
and put something in it's place;
No matter what it is, he has the solution
and I'd be filled with grace
It can be all kinds of prisions in one's life
those bars they can't get out;
But he Lord can go through any locked door
for he does carry some clout
So though it may seem dark and dreary
his word of light, is the way;
That will bring us through the darkness
and it's still right here today
