I remember watching a vendor at the fair holding a collection of helium balloons, and each one was tied to a long length of ribbon, like he was holding a giant bouquet of blooms.
They were so colorful and bobbed in the breeze, and if he was not careful to tend, one would escape and fly away, never to be seen again.
It made me think of the gifts we have in our love that we share ever new, and thought of what kind of balloons I would pick as a bouquet to give to you.
First would come the largest of all, rosy red and sent straight from God above, for on its side, spelled out in beautiful sparkling script, would be the word - love.
Next I would pick one of bright blue, iridescent like a bubble of soap, and in
the rainbow hues would be written a glowing word - hope.
Then would be a balloon of the purest white, dancing in every breeze so slight, and on its side would be two words this time - for I'd give you joy and delight.
Last of all, I'd pick one of green, it would sparkle with an inner glow, for it would say - anticipation - for all the things we have yet to know.
Each of these would have streamers of grace, ribbons of forgiveness and peace, little curlicues of laughter and fun, all tied together in one piece.
Every day I would bring this bouquet to you, holding on to it so tight, so that then we could both grab onto the streamers and our hearts full of love would take flight.
We'd float thru the day sky and into the night, through clouds and rainbows of glorious hues, and my prayer would sail higher, right into God's ear, thanking Him for giving me you!
