You big bully! You think you can do anything you want! You think you can push everyone around and no one will dare give you any flack! For forty days you have championed your Philistine cohorts.
They call you Goliath; I call you Bully! Not again, big boy, today you meet your end. Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that would defy the armies of the living God? Today you face the wrath of the God you blaspheme with impunity!
My name is David and I have had it with your foul mouth. You stand there bellowing like an overgrown bull moose. So pompous standing there, you ten or so feet tall mountain of nephilim flesh!
You defy the whole host of the armies of God as if you were invincible and you hurl your insults like rain on God’s people. How long did you think you could get away with your putrid ramblings?
You come against me with bronze leg armor, a bronze helmet, and a bronze coat of scale covering your chest, all weighing almost as much as I do. You have a bronze javelin slung on your back and a spear that has a fifteen pound iron point on it and a sword of great weight and length; yet you are naked and without defense before this servant of the most high God.
With five smooth stones and my shepherd’s sling, I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you defied.
I will take your head from your wasted carcass so that the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel and that all gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord says; “ for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give all of you into our hands.”
I ran at the giant with deadly aim and loosed the stone that brought the giant to his end. I took Goliath’s own sword and severed his head from his wretched body and held it up for all to see.
Only then did the armies of God spring forward and chased the Philistines out of the land, slaughtering many as they went.
Don’t let life’s giants bully you into submission. You have got to take a head to get ahead!
Awesome work! And so timely too... just when I was feeling somewhat defeated by circumstances. But I know whom it is that I serve! Now... let me see... yes, I remember exactly where I put those stones. :::smile:::
