Lord, someone tried to convince me
That you just were not real.
He said that it was just foolish
To feel the things that I feel.
We argued back and forth on this
Until there was no doubt,
I'd knocked down every argument,
And he was running out.
"Just out of curiosity"
I heard this person say.
"Would you please explain to me,
Why you love Him in this way."
"No problem," was my swift reply,
"And if you've got the time,
Sit down and let me tell how
He gave His life for yours and mine."
As I talked, He listened,
Asking questions here and there.
He sat there looking skyward
With a strangely serious stare.
"I'll have to think about it,"
He said and walked away.
Still, here in my spirit I know Lord,
You won his heart today.
