Why O Lord is there much division
Within the body of Christ?
For we have become sisters and brothers
So why is there so much strife?
It seems to me thereís much debating
Arguing to and fro
The Bible implores us to be united
And the love of God to show
But more than often we fight each other
When we feel that we are right
Arguing and debating biblical truth
Does nothing to honour Christ
Though at times we need to correct error
We do so in the spirit of love
Refuse to give in to an unholy battle
Remember Christís spilled blood
For Jesus gave His life for us
Uniting us by His grace
So we should put aside our weapons
For to Him they are a disgrace
The only weapons we must be armed with
Are the weapons of the Lord
And the only real enemy that we have
Is Satan and his hoards
We must gird ourselves with Godís compassion
And see others as He does
If we would only pray for each other
Thereíll only be room for Godís love.

Amen to that Michelle - why indeed? I think that's why I enjoy the message boards here at FaithWriters so much. The denominational differences rarely show themselves (most of us don't know - or care - which denomination we all attend anyway). It's very refreshing. There's such a joy that comes when there is koinonea (that beautiful fellowship between brothers and sisters in Christ) who don't major on the minors, preferring grace to cover all things. By the way, as soon as I saw that you had written "honour" with a "u," I knew that you were probably from outside the US. Then I discovered that you are from New Zealand. How lovely - I'm from Australia. If you ever get a chance, please come over the FaithWriters' Message Boards and meet the Kiwis and Aussies in our own special "neighbourhood" there. You'd be very welcome. We have two ladies from New Zealand who would love to meet you. With love, Deb
