(Christmas Reality: a personal paraphrase of II Corinthians 10:3-5)
Temptations jeer on every side while my own perceived needs demand attention – and yet I must not fight any of them with mere good intentions or schemes. I own ammunition far greater than diet plans, manipulative tactics, panicky reactions, or feeble New Year resolutions, all of which spell failure. My weapons are supernaturally powerful; they expose and heal root issues rather than just addressing external evidences of a deeper war.
I am equipped and able to destroy any earthly influence that attempts to control me - to offer my heart and soul (every desire, opinion, feeling, and belief) to the Lord rather than submit to visions defined by my own fallen humanity. His expectations are lofty and permanent while mine seem shallow and temporary in comparison!
I am called to obediently identify, grasp, and then relinquish every single thought to Jesus Christ. He is my advocate, my sure source of hope and redemption.
