On that long ago winter night
A Baby King was born.
He came down from Heaven
To be the Savior of the world.
His mother was a virgin
His earthly father worked with wood.
God chose them to be the parents
Of His Son cause they were good.
The angels told the shepherds
Where to find the Babe that night.
They left their flocks to seek Him
Guided by a Star so bright.
King Herod became insanely jealous
When others talked of the Newborn King.
He asked the Wise Men to let him know
So that he could go to worship Him.
But he didn’t want to worship
For death was really his plan.
So Joseph took Mary and the Babe
And fled to Egypt’s land.
We need to thank our Father
For this perfect Christmas Gift.
If we will just accept It
It will give our hearts a lift.
