This is the season when you look all around, and see gifts all wrapped in paper
so bright, some to be opened on Christmas morning, some on Christmas Eve
night - and I thought about the gifts I have each day, the ones that shape how
I experience the world around me, and I'm amazed afresh at how very rich I am, and astonished that all this is mine for free.
God gave me the gift of sight, so I could look around, and see all the wonder and beauty in this world that He created just for me.
Most of all though, I thank God for this gift, for it enables me to see the sight of your dear face first thing in the morning and the very last thing at night.
God gave me the gift of hearing, to experience the sounds all around, the breeze
flowing through the leaves on the trees, the squirrels scampering across the ground.
Most of all, though, I thank God for this gift, for each day I get to hear anew, the words that are most precious to me, your voice saying "I love you."
God gave me the gift of smell so that each breath would bring another dimension to those of sound and sight, for the smell of fresh bread coming out of the oven is one of life's best delights.
But the smell of flowers, fresh in the spring, the sweetness of grass that is freshly mown, cannot compare to the best one of all, knowing you're near when I smell your cologne.
God gave me the gift of taste so I'd know how His word and His love are so sweet, and to tell the difference between a lemon so sour, and a wonderful sugary treat.
God gave me a new heart and a new life to live, the sweetness of it every day is so new, so I would know the best taste of all, of sharing each tasty moment with you.
God gave me the gift of touch so I could feel the smoothness of a baby's skin, and the roughness of the bark of a tree, the softness of a kitten, and its warmth within.
But most of all though, I thank God for this gift, for when I feel my hand wrapped inside yours, I know the comfort and joy of your love, the strength and gentleness of this husband I adore.
When I think of all the gifts I've been given, their value is so beyond measure, that every day I am given such riches, God truly has poured out His treasure.
I gather them up, they are mine each day, and every morning the experience will be brand new, for all my senses will give me another way to express how very much I love you!

Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year to You and Lucian!
"Numbers 6:24,25,26"
He is certainly the Gift Giver and Jesus, Himself is our greatest gift of all. With a relationship like yours and Lucian's, you are "gifted" all year long. But may this Christmas Day find you especially "gifted." Much love!
