Hebrews 11 takes us to a place where faith is the realization of what we hope for is going to happen. Verse 4, “it was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God that Cain did. God accepted Abel’s offering to show that he was a righteous man.”
Rejection and Acceptance is a conflict that our generation is fighting. Was Cain’s behavior after rejection sinful? Yes. He offered, it was rejected and he became angry and through his fury murdered his brother. We see this in our generation, in the urban hood to the corporate boardrooms. The urban child will fight one another for a new pair of shoes to corporate executives ripping off the pension fund or the company itself. Why do men and women do these things? To be accepted by society and looked upon as someone of importance. Or is it men and women look to their flesh, for satisfaction? Yes, that is it. The flesh! It drives this generations lusty pleasures, from stealing a pair of shoe, in the hood to cooperate political malfeasance. Just as Cain sinned in the flesh, some of us continue to this day, troubled with the lusty pleasure of the flesh.
